On November 10, 2011, Nangwik Services celebrated both the 236th anniversary of the Marine Corps and the opening of its new office in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. The event took place at Nangwik’s new office on King Street, and was attended by teaming partners and pillars of the local community.
The Mayor of Alexandria, William D. Euille, spoke to guests at the beginning of the ceremony, welcoming Nangwik to the City of Alexandria Community. The Mayor was accompanied by other members of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, which showed its support for the continued success of Nangwik in the City of Alexandria.
Another keynote speaker was Kristina Woolston, the Director of Government Relations for the Chenega Corporation. Ms. Woolston provided an overview of the history of Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs), and their importance to the Alaskan Native population. She specifically gave some background on the Chenega Corporation and how Nangwik’s work benefits Chenega shareholders. Considering the scrutiny ANCs have been under lately, Nangwik hopes to shed light on the reality of the benefits of ANCs and how successful Nangwik and Chenega have been in improving the livelihood of the Chenega community.
In addition to Mr. Euille and Ms. Woolston, other speakers included John Campagna, the President of the Military, Intelligence & Operations Support Strategic Business Unit (MIOS SBU), and Chris Cronin, President of Nangwik Services, LLC. Mr. Campagna and his team at the MIOS SBU have been integral in the success of Nangwik’s move to the new office.
The entire Nangwik team gathered for the official ribbon cutting with the Mayor, which was captured by the Chamber of Commerce. Nangwik is thrilled with the involvement of the City of Alexandria, and hopes this will be the beginning of mutually beneficial relationship with the local community.

The affair was a great opportunity for Nangwik to showcase its new, more central location to existing and potential teaming partners. Over a hundred guests were in attendance, including members of many of our teaming partners. Teaming partners in attendance included Manhattan Supply Company, MLS, Computer Science Corporation, Analytic Services, Missing Link Security, Dependable Global Solutions, Carney, Kimpton Hotels, ArcSight, Dependable Global Solution, and Vangent. Guests enjoyed local cuisine from Nangwik’s friends across the street at Jackson 20 as they toured Nangwik’s new, beautiful space which includes a spacious conference room, seven individual offices, and room for two additional workstations.
Before guests departed, Mr. Cronin paid homage to his years as a Marine by involving the group with a traditional ritual cake cutting to celebrate the 236th anniversary of the Marine Corps. Guests enjoyed participating in the ceremony, and it was a great example of Nangwik’s commitment to serving its country through its work.
